Abstract

The flue pipe (1) is surrounded by an outer cylindrical pipe (2) to form an annular space (5) which is closed at the top and bottom by annular plates (3, 4). An insulating jacket (10) is placed around the outer pipe and water to be heated by the flue gases flows upwards through the annular space (5). Inside the flue pipe baffles (6) on a common vertical stem (7) promote turbulence to increase heat transfer. The water inlet (11) at the bottom of the annulus contains a stop valve (22), a non return valve (16), a drain cock (23), a pressure gauge (17), and a thermometer (13). The water outlet (12) at the top contains a thermometer (14), an air release valve (24), an automatic air vent (18), a flow regulator (15) and a stop valve (21).
