Abstract
1,195,154. Waste gas boilers. WAAGNERBIRO A.G. 8 July, 1968 [24 Aug., 1967], No. 32564/68. Heading F4A. In a waste heat boiler the hot gases entering at 11 flow over evaporator tubes 12 arranged in the space between a steam pipe 23, surrounding the water feed pipe 22, and a wall 4 situated within the pressure vessel wall 1. The wall 4 has an upper movable portion 5 which can be moved towards or away from seats 7, 8, to control the gas flow over the tubes 12, the hot gas escaping through annular space 13 to outlet 3. Tube 22 discharges into a chamber at the bottom of pipe 23 to which the boiler tubes 12 are connected, wet steam being discharged into the pipe 23. Water preheaters 32 may be arranged in the space 13 and a superheater 34 may be situated upstream of the tubes 12, the gas flow over the superheater tubes being controlled by a by-pass valve 38. In a modification, Fig. 3, the feed water is delivered by pipes 22, 47, to chambers 42, 44, the inner tubes 40 of tube bank 12 leading from chamber 42 to steam collector 43 whilst the outer tubes 41 lead from chamber 44 to steam collector 45.
