Abstract
The exchanger has a steam inlet at the top with a stop valve (5) and a regulating valve (6). Steam flows through an upper changer (8) and an annular space (9) into a condensate well (18) at the bottom of the exchanger. A condensate discharge pipe (19) rises vertically from the condensate well (18) to an outlet connection (21). Its height is such as to provide a permanent statis head on the steam side which is up to 3 bars above the secondary water pressure. The secondary water to be heated enters from a pump (3) at the base of the exchanger and flows to an outlet (7) at the top through an annular space (26) round the steam space.
