Abstract

Boiling water enters via the inlet (2) for example at 0.32 kg/cm<2>, and passes through a pipe (22) and arrives at the valve (6). When it is lifted from its seat by the lever (26), the valve allows the liquid to pass into an outlet pipe (28) through slots (30) and a filter (20) as far as an expansion chamber (18). The steam rises up between the walls (12, 14) as far as an upper outlet (16) whilst the liquid falls evenly, through the main outlet (4). The tap is used, for example, at the outlet from a boiler. <IMAGE>
