Abstract
In the main line (1) are two pivoting sections (4, 5). The free end of each is cut on an angle so that the ends may be sealed when closed together. In use, each length swings outwards, the arriving container dropping in box (8) which forms part of the surround (2). A container for despatch is placed in a short length of tube (9) on one side of the main line and the lower section (5) is pivoted so as to be aligned with the tube (9) for receiving the container. Solenoid operated interlocks (10, 11) ensure the correct despatching procedure is followed. The diameter of each container is much smaller than the conveying tube to reduce bend radii and the containers are fitted with sealing rings.
