Abstract

1416393 Pneumatic shuttle conveyer station LAMSON ENG CO Ltd 6 March 1974 [7 March 1973] 11002/73 Heading B8A A receiving/dispatch station for a pneumatic shuttle conveyer system comprises a receptacle connectable to the open end of the tube for reception of carriers, a cradle to hold carriers for dispatch and means for moving the cradle into and along the path followed by an arriving carrier and in the reverse direction and thus into and out of connection with the open end of the tube for dispatch of the carrier. In the Figure, cradle 18 receives carriers 11 for dispatch through aperture 3, a motor (not shown) is energized when the system is free to receive the carrier, to move the cradle via pivoted arm 17 into connection with aperture 2 and the open end of the tube. When the carrier has been dispatched, the cradle is moved back to the full-line position. Arriving carriers are guided by guide plate 12 and come to rest behind slot 13 for removal from the system.
