A receiving and despatch station is provided in a housing 3, through which extend a dispatch tube 1 and a receiving tube 2, and comprises an opening in the despatch tube 1 accessibly through a flap 4 in the housing and an opening in the receiving tube 2, Fig. 2 (not shown), which is provided with a diverter (5) and with a tube leading past a flap (6) to an inclined container (7). The container 7 extends through the front wall of the housing 3, Fig. 1, and the housing is also provided with storage compartments 9 for the carriers.
