In a pneumatic tube despatch system a combined despatch and receiving station comprises an air-tight casing 6, Fig. 1, in the region of an arcuate bend in the forwarding tube 1 at which an aperture 2 is provided for ejection or insertion of a carrier when a cover (not shown) is removed. The casing 6 has a funnel 12 into which the carriers pass when ejected and which may be connected directly to a further despatch tube. Specification 987,950 is referred to.
