Abstract

1417890 Pneumatic dispatch container systems LAMSON ENG CO Ltd 25 Sept 1974 [25 Sept 1973] 44827/73 Heading B8A A diverter in a pneumatic dispatch container system comprises a switch tube a portion of which is movable axially with respect to the rest of the tube, the tube being pivotable about an axis at right angles to its longitudinal axis. In Fig. 1, switch tube 5 comprises two portions 6, 7 arranged such that portion 6 is axially slidable in portion 7, the switch tube being pivoted at 8 to a main tube of the system so that the switch tube may be moved (as shown, by a lever 27 operated by gears 24, 25) axially away from a branch tube 3, angularly to align with another branch tube 4 and then axially towards branch tube 4. Sealing means are provided to ensure good communication between the switch tube and the branch tubes.
