Abstract

1,213,224. Endless conveyers. ARTHUR GUINNESS SON & CO. (DUBLIN) Ltd. 7 March, 1969 [2 April, 1968], No. 15718/68. Heading B8A. Casks 5, which are to be turned through 180 degrees about a horizontal axis, are lifted from a conveyer belt 1 by an L-shaped member 7 which pivots about its fulcrum 7a to turn the casks through 90 degrees and deposit the same on a further L-shaped member 9, arranged with one limb in interdigitating relation with one limb of the member 7, and which in turn rotates the casks through 90 degrees before returning the same to the belt 1. A stop 5 is operated to release casks 2 in synchronization with the operation of the turning members and along with such members is actuated by respective pneumatic cylinders 4, 8, 10 controlled by switches (not shown) engaged by the casks or the members 7, 9 in either of their end positions.
