Abstract

A counter sprung vertical bar (16) with horizontal projecting lugs (15) at each drawer (12) level locates laterally adjacent to the external corners of the drawers, the lug (15), at rest, aligning with cam grooves (14) (two horizontal lengths joined by an inclined ramp) on each drawer lateral front. When a drawer is opened its groove (12) engages a lug (15) drawing the bar (16) upwards, moving lugs out of alignment with the other grooves and thus locking the other drawers. Locking of all drawers is effected by a similar (18, 19) independent key controlled mechanism at the chest top.
