Abstract

1,209,604. Shelving. G. C. COTTON. 12 July, 1968 [14 April, 1967], No. 17179/67. Heading A4B. [Also in Division B6] A shelving system comprises shelves 3 disposed end to end and supported by cantilevered brackets 2, each bracket 2 having an upper edge recess aligned with longitudinal channels 4 in adjacent shelves 3, and a transverse divider plate 6 with a clamping device 7 slidably engaged in the channels 4. The clamping device may, as shown, comprise a plate which is drawn by a screw on to flanges 5 at the mouth of the channel 4. Alternatively, the clamping device may comprise two plates which can be expanded into engagement with the channel by a lever, cam, screw or spring. Bearings or rollers 9 may be provided on the lower edge of the divider 6.
