1471653 Drawer locking devices ABBOTT BROS (SPECIAL PRODUCTS) Ltd 2 Aug 1974 [17 Aug 1973] 38959/73 Heading E2A The drawers of a filing cabinet have a keyoperated locking mechanism comprising a vertically-displaceable locking-bar 14 in a guide at the side of the cabinet, the bar 14 is gravity biased towards the drawer-unlocking position and embodies a projection 15 in respect of each drawer and which in vertical movement engages catch means 16 on each drawer. A cam rail 22, including an inclined part, is provided on each drawer so that upon opening of any one drawer the inclined rail part engages the respective projection 15 and moves the bar 14 vertically to the drawer locking position thereby preventing opening of any other drawer.
