Abstract
1511928 Locks FRITZ SCHAFER GmbH 14 April 1976 [15 April 1975] 15255/76 Heading E2A A vertically arranged chest of drawers 3, only one of which may be pulled out at a time, has a vertically-sliding locking bar 7 having apertures 9 engaged by inclined, notched fingers 8 on the drawers such that withdrawal of one drawer, Fig. 5, lifts the locking bar by means of ramp surface 10 so that the notches 12 on the remaining fingers are engaged by the lower edges of the respective holes 9 to prevent those other drawers being pulled out. Reinsertion of the drawer restores the locking bar to its releasing position. The whole cabinet is locked by a key-operated lever 16, on the top drawer, arranged to raise, Fig. 3, or lower, Fig. 4, the locking bar by engagement with claws 15 on the bar. The bar may be indexed by a catch 13, 14 or by a side-spring arrangement (Figs. 7 and 8, not shown).
