Abstract

The junction piece is basically spherical with six flat faces perpendicular and parallel to each other. In the centre of each face is a tapped hole. A thin walled, longitudinally split, brass cylinder is placed on an Allen type screw between two conical pieces with axial clearance holes, and their cones facing each other. The screw is screwed into the junction piece. The tube is placed over the assembly, the screw is tightened and the brass cylinder clamps against the inside of the tube after being expanded by the conical ends of the two pieces which are forced towards each other.
