Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a fastening device for a shaft and a boss with self centering function thereby enabling reliable centering without requiring high accuracy of the equipment. CONSTITUTION:A fastening device for a shaft 1 and a boss 2 comprises an inner ring 10 having a flanged part with its outer circumference surface shaped to ture roundness for centering and a tubular part 12 with a tapered outer circumference surface 13 an outer ring 20 having a flanged part 21 with its circumference surface shaped to itrue roundness for centering and a tubular part 22 with a tapered inner circumference surface 23, and fastening bolts 30. The inner ring 10 and the outer ring 20 are inserted between the shaft 1 and the boss 2 causing respective tapered surfaces 13 and 23 to come in contact with each other, and screwing the bolts 30 to threaded holes 24 of the outer ring 20 through clearance holes 14 of the inner ring 10 causes the inner ring 10 to contract and the outer ring 20 to expand thereby engaging with O.D. of the shaft and I.D. of the boss respectively to fasten the shaft 1 and the boss 2.
