Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform accurate centering between a shaft and a boss by providing a fastener with a self centering function and slits to its inner and outer rings for less strict shaft O.D. tolerance, boss I.D. tolerance, and boss I.D. surface finish roughness. CONSTITUTION:A fastening device to fasten a shaft 1 and boss 2 comprises an inner ring 10, an outer ring 20 and bolts 30, said inner ring 10 consisting of a flange part 11 and a tubular part 12, the outer circumference surface of said flange part 11 being shaped to true roundness for centering and the outer circumference surface of said tubular part 12 being provided with a tapered part 13, said outer ring 20 consisting of a flanged part 21 and a tubular part 22, the inner circumference surface of said flanged part 21 being shaped to true roundness for centering and the inner circumference surfce of said tubular part 22 being provided with a tapered part 23. The inner ring 10 and the outer ring 20 are inserted between the shaft 1 and the boss 2, and the bolts are screwed into threaded holes 25 of the outer ring 20 through clearance holes 16 of the inner ring 10 for fastening.
