Abstract

A joint designed for plastic tubes is described and offers secure fixing, perfect sealing, simple assembly and light weight. A tapered sealing ring having a diagonal cut in it is used and the tubes to be joined are securely gripped between this and extensions of the joint body passing up the inside of the tubes for a substantial distance and having serrations on the faces in contact with the tubes. The sealing ring is wedges between the pipe and joint body by an outer ring screwing onto the body.
