Abstract
The steel has the composition 0.05-0.15% C, 0.20-0.50% Si, 0.30-1.30% Mn, up to 0.030% S, max. 0.050% P, 0.003-0.08% Al, 0.3=Nb/C=3.0, balance Fe and impurities. The steel sheet produced by hot rolling and cold rolling, and a recrystallisation anneal, has a tensile strength of 45-60 kp/mm2, proof stress of 30-45 kp/mm2. It can be shaped by pressing and can be lap-resistance welded. Suitable for the manufacture of car bodies.
