Abstract

Centrifugal, pneumatic separator for classifying powders and granules, dust separation etc. This type of separator has a centrifuging rotor which spins inside a centrifuging rotor which spins inside a casing and is axially fed with material to be separated which is flung radially outwards to separating zones, basically, separating air is sucked into these zones via intakes on the periphery of the rotor and, as the air enters, in turns back fines for collection while heavier particles are thrown out into the casing. There is more room for air intakes on the periphery than, conventionally, near the rotor axis, so more air can be taken in and product output increased.
