Abstract

In known appts. for drawing a 'threading point' of strip material e.g. moist cellulose or paper, through a treatment plant e.g. a drier, by means of a conveyor belt folded double on the side of strip along its transport path and consisting of two plane sections joined along their outer edges, whereby means are provided for guiding these sections away from each other upstream of an entry or exit position for the 'point' and for recombining them downstream of these positions, the equipment for opening the belts includes (a) a guide surface or roll, spaced from a foregoing roll over which the belt runs while folded double, and profiled (curved) in such a way that the belt is opened over >180 degrees, and (b) a directly following driven roll of lesser curvature.
