Abstract

1311758 Drying paper webs PAKO CORP 2 June 1970 [6 June 1969] 26650/70 Heading F4G A paper web to be dried passes through a housing 5 which has an inlet opening 5a and an outlet opening 5b for the web, the web running in a sinuous path over driven rollers 11, 12, idler rollers 13, 14, 15, and a hollow stack 6 from which air is drawn to prevent the free end of the web from falling out of the sinuous path. A transport belt 8 also runs over the centre portion of the rollers beneath the paper web, is narrower than the web, and runs between two vertical lines of vents 7 in the stack 6. Air warmed by a heating element 10 and circulated by a blower 9, is drawn from inside the stack 6 causing the paper to be held against the outer edges of the vents 7.
