Abstract

Tape impregnated with liquid ammonia makes multiple wraps about a rotating heated dryer drum, feed of the tape to and from the drum periphery being controlled by two pairs of spaced guide rolls located in a plane parallel with a tangent to the drum, a separate guide roller being spaced outwardly from the two pairs of guide rolls to receive tape from one pair and deliver it to the other pair. Successive wraps are spaced along the drum periphery. Adjacent wraps cannot entangle in a machine for treating sliding clasp fastener tapes.
