Abstract

1,000,066. Labelling-machines. MORGAN FAIREST Ltd. June 11, 1964 [March 26, 1963], No. 11881/63. Heading B8F. In a labelling machine in which cylindrical articles A, Fig. 2, are rolled over labels B fed by an intermittently rotated suction turret 1, the articles are fed over the turret 1 by a rotary pocket wheel or drum 10 carrying spaced pairs of rollers 11 to engage and support the articles A and which are driven by engagement with a stationary arcuate friction surface 17 so that the articles A are caused to roll over the labels. The rollers 11 comprise upper and lower portions 11A, 11B, Fig. 5, mounted on spindles 13. Only the upper roller portions 11A engage the stationary surface 17. The articles A are guided to and from the turret 1 by side guides 14, 18, 20 and are finally pressed between a rolling plate 21 and an endless belt 22 to ensure adhesion of the labels B.
