Abstract

Apparatus for separating liquids and impurities in a compressed gas, of the known type which can be mounted on a gas pipe and comprises a housing the upper part of which contains a filter and the lower part a float controlling-via an auxiliary valve - a purge valve with a piston operating a closure plate and able to be moved in the opening direction by the compressed gas via the auxiliary valve or in the closing direction by a spring, incorporates the improvement whereby the purge vale is fixed externally below the housing, the valve body having a hollow shaft passing into the housing where it can be used as a guide for the float and provides a connection on the one hand between the purge valve and the interior of the housing and on the other hand between the space surrounding the working face of the purge valve piston and the auxiliary valve, the piston being displaceable in a direction perpendicular to that of the closure member of the auxiliary valve.
