Abstract

1368147 Valves COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE DES PETROLES 3 Dec 1971 [11 Dec 1970] 56370/71 Heading F2V A valve has means for completely sealing its actuating device from the controlled fluid. The valve closure member 31 is controlled by an actuating member 7 movable with linear motion by an actuating device disposed in housing 1. The space containing the actuating device is filled with fluid 26, e.g. oil, and is sealed from the controlled fluid 25 by a bellows 24. A further bellows 28 located in a chamber communicated with the controlled fluid via passage 27, maintains the fluids 25, 26 at the same pressure to reduce stresses in the bellows. An electric motor drives a threaded shaft 17 through gearing 13, 16 to raise or lower the member 7 and thereby the closure member 31.
