Abstract
The sensitisers are bispyrylium salts of one of the formula (where R1R2R4R5 are aryl or r2R3,R5R6 can be condensed aromatic ring, R3R6 are H or above R7R8 are H, lower alkyl or alkoxy or aryl. A is vinylene or a chemical bond B is vinylene or arylene X is O ro S Z is anion; Q Y from a condensed aromatic ring). Preferred are the bis-perchlorates of 4:4'-biflavylium 4:4'-(1:2-vinylene) bis(4-flavylium) and-bis (4-thiaflavylium; 4:4'-bithiaflavylium; 4:4-bi-2:6-diphenylpyrylium; and diphenylthiapyrylium; 1:4-phenylene bis (2-benzo- b -pyrylium) and -(4-methyl-2-benzo- b -pyrylium); 1:4-phenylene bis (2-naptho 2, 1b pyrylium; 4:4'-(1:2-vinylene) bis (4-chloroflavylium). Preferably with an arylamine polyarylalkane or diarylaminochalocone photoconductor.
