Abstract

Soln. for producing silver depositions on a metal or nonmetallic surface consists of water, silver salt, water soluble amine borane as a silver reducing agent, water soluble amine or ammonia and water soluble cyanide cpd. the cyanide cpd. being present in an amount >0.02 mol/l. so as to generate a stable and water soluble complex cpd. with the silver salt, the pH being 10 to 14. This soln. provides silver coatings of desired thickness having a long life, high density, adhesiveness, protective property, ductility, solderability and electroconductivity.
