1294577 Electroless nickel plating ENTHONE Inc 9 Oct 1970 48134/70 Heading C7F An electroless Ni plating bath comprises 0À08 to 0À16 mole/l., 0À19 to 0À38 mole/l. hypophosphite ions, 0À35 to 3À68 mole/l. ammonium ions, 0À09 to 1À07 mole/l. acetate ions and 0À007 to 0À14 mole/l. citrate ions (pH 7À0 to 9À5). The Ni ions may be chloride, sulphate, acetate, hypophosphite or nickel ammonium sulphate. The ammonium ions may be hydroxide, chloride, acetate, sulphate or hypophosphite. The substrate may be A.B.S. epoxy resins, polypropylene, polysulphone and polystyrene or steel, Ni, Co or Pd. Plastic surfaces may be contacted with chromic-sulphuric acid, Sn Cl 2 , and Pd Cd 2 . The plated surface may be subsequently plated with Ni or Cu, and finally Cr.
