Abstract

1,254,308. Electroless plating of plastics. BAKELITE XYLONITE Ltd. March 19, 1970 [Dec. 19, 1968], No.60464/68. Heading C7F. A plastics article is selectively plated with metal by making the parts to be plated of a "plateable" plastics and those parts not to be plated of a "non plateable" plastics. The article is made by a two-shot injection or compression moulding process. The articles are electroless or electrolytically plated by conventional methods with e.g. Ni followed with Cu, Ni and then Cr. Activation may be by Pd Cl 2 which may be colloidal.
