Abstract

1321963 Electroless gold plating E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 9 March 1972 [9 March 1971] 11108/72 Heading C7F An electroless gold plating bath (pH 1À5 to 5) comprises a gold compound, e.g. sulphate, chloride, acetate or formate or an alkali metal gold cyanide, and an alkali metal cyanoborohydride. The substrate may be Fe, steel, Ni, Cu, Ag, Co, Pt or Pd or glass, ceramics or plastics rendered catalytic with e.g. Pd. The bath may also contain citric, tartaric or glycolic acids or borates and an organic divalent or monovalent sulphur compound. The bath temperature is preferably 80 to 95‹C.
