Abstract

Sealing device fixed at the end of a metal sleeve, more especially a nuclear reactor fuel element sleeve having a hard metal plug with a circular knife edge on its lower face which compresses an annular soft metal joint on a second circular knife edge facing upwards and fixed to a hard metal socket welded to the end of the sleeve which is to be sealed, the plug being compressed by a metal cover screwed onto the socket with the interposition of one or more elastic, metal washers and one solid metal washer.
