Abstract

883,464. Joint-making packing. PRECISION RUBBERS Ltd. Jan. 28, 1960 [Dec. 30, 1958], No. 42114/58. Class 122 (3). [Also in Group XXV] A sealing washer comprises a metal ring 14 that tapers from one peripheral edge towards the other and a rubber &c. annulus 20, 21 bonded to each side face 16, 17 of the ring and tapering from one peripheral edge towards the other oppositely to the taper of the ring. The side faces of the ring may be provided with flat joint surfaces 18, 19, Fig. 1, or coned or otherwise shaped, Fig. 7, to correspond with the mating faces 27, 28, Fig. 8, of the joint to be sealed.
