Abstract

A support plate for tubes in the refrigeration of hot gases where there is a large difference of pressure between the gas and the refrigerant and the gas is circulating at high speed through the tubes is reinforced by provision of double wall tubes near the entry zones joined together in an annular manner by sealing off, there being pipes fixed in an intermediate preceding plate introduced into the annular cavities so created. The chamber surrounding these pipes bounded by the consecutive support plates communicates through an annular interstice drilled around the pipes with the outside chamber of the refrigerant for the gas.
