Abstract

1277846 Vacuum furnaces IPSEN INDUSTRIES INTERNATIONAL GmbH 15 April 1970 [17 April 1969] 17909/70 Heading F4B A furnace usable as a vacuum furnace or as an atmospheric pressure furnace, comprises a pressure-tight casing 12 having a heat-insulating wall 18 dividing the furnace into a first chamber 15 and a second chamber 16 containing the charge 22. The furnace also comprises a heat-exchanger 28 for cooling the gas within the casing and selectively movable between the chambers, electric heating means 23 for heating the charge, a fan 24 for circulating gas within the first chamber, and a baffle arrangement 26 for guiding the circulating gas over the charge 22. The heat exchanger 28 lies within the chamber 15 during the heating process, so as to be shielded by the partition 18.
