COMPRENDE LA BROMACION DE LA A-ERGOCRIPTINA, POR TRATAMIENTO DE LA MISMA CON UNA MEZCLA DE SULFOXIDO DE DIMETILO Y BROMURO DE HIDROGENO, QUE NO CONTENGA MAS DEL 0,002% DE AGUA, A LA TEMPERATURA AMBIENTE. EL PRODUCTO OBTENIDO SE SEPARA DE LA MEZCLA DE REACCION Y SE PURIFICA SIGUIENDO METODOS CONVENCIONALES. ESTOS COMPUESTOS TIENEN APLICACIONES FARMACOLOGICAS PARA EL TRATAMIENTO DE LA AMENORREA, GALACTORREA Y MACROMELIA, ASI COMO VARIOS TIPOS DE CANCER.
