EN UNA PRIMERA ETAPA EL COQUE SIN TRATAR SE CALIENTA EN UN HORNO HASTA UNA TEMPERATURA DE ENTRE 750JC Y 1.000º Y, EN UNA SEGUNDA ETAPA, EN UN SEGUNDO HORNO HASTA UNA TEMPERATURA DE ENTRE 1.200JC Y 1.600JC. EL CALENTAMIENTO EN LA PRIMERA ETAPA SE LLEVA A CABO CON UN REGIMEN DE CALENTAMIENTO CONTROLADO MENOR QUE 60JC/MIN, EN EL INTERVALO DE TEMPERATURA DE ENTRE 600JC Y 800JC, CON LO QUE DICHO CALENTAMIENTO SE CONSIGUE MEDIANTE MATERIA VOLATIL OBTENIDA POR COMBUSTION EN CALIENTE, QUE SE OBTIENE AL ELIMINAR LA MATERIA VOLATIL LIBERADA DE LA PRIMERA ETAPA, AL CALCINAR DICHA MATERIA VOLATIL FUERA DE LA PRIMERA ETAPA Y AL RECICLAR LA MATERIA VOLATIL CALCINADA A LA PRIMERA ETAPA.
