COMPRENDE LAS SIGUIENTES OPERACIONES: PRIMERA, SE PROVOCA, POR ENFRIAMIENTO CONTROLADO EN LA PARTE SUPERIOR DE UN VOLUMEN DE METAL LIQUIDO A PURIFICAR CONTENIDO EN UN CRISOL Y DISPUESTO EN UN HORNO, LA FORMACION DE PEQUEÑOS CRISTALES QUE CAEN POR GRAVEDAD HACIA EL FONDO DEL RECIPIENTE; SEGUNDA, ESTOS PEQUEÑOS CRISTALES SE APELMAZAN EN EL FONDO DEL RECIPIENTE PARA OBTENER UNA CAPA DE CRISTALES GRUESOS PURIFICADOS QUE NO CONTIENEN PRACTICAMENTE NADA DE LIQUIDO; Y POR ULTIMO, SE AJUSTA EL FLUJO TERMICO DE TAL MANERA QUE SE REFUNDA COMPLETA Y PROGRESIVAMENTE LA PARTE INFERIOR DE LA MASA DE CRISTALES GRUESOS FORMADOS, PROPAGANDO ESTA REFUSION HACIA LA PARTE SUPERIOR DE MODO QUE SE MANTENGA DE MODO PERMANENTE UNA CAPA DE CRISTALES GRUESOS, LA CUAL SEPARA EL LIQUIDO REFUNDIDO SITUADO ENTERAMENTE EN LA PARTE INFERIOR DEL LIQUIDO MADRE RESTANTE.
