SE REALIZA UN TRATAMIENTO TERMICO EN UN SUBSTRATO DE ACERO DE NO ALEACION, NO CONTIENE MAS DEL 0,5% EN PESO DE CARBONO, LLEVANDOLO A UNA TEMPERATURA DE 550 A 720 C DURANTE 4 HORAS EN UNA ATMOSFERA DE AMONIO, AMONIO Y GAS ENDOTERMICO, AMONIO Y GAS EXOTERMICO O AMONIO Y NITROGENO, CON LA INCLUSION OPCIONAL DE AL MENOS UNA DE DIOXIDO DE CARBONO, PRODUCIENDOSE SOBRE EL ACERO UNA CAPA DE SUPERFICIE DE NITRURO DE HIERRO EPSILON. SE APLICA UNA CAPA DE REVESTIMIENTO A LA CAPA DE SUPERFICIE PARA PROPORCIONAR SOBRE LA MISMA UN REVESTIMIENTO PROTECTOR ORGANICO Y SOLIDO.
