PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA OBTENCION DE 5-PY-BENZOXAZOL-2-(3H)-ONAS Y DE SUS SALES CATIONICAS O DE ADICION DE ACIDO, DE FORMULA (I), EN LA QUE PY ES 4- O 3-PIRIDINILO SIN SUSTITUIR O SUSTITUIDO POR UNO O DOS ALQUILO INFERIOR. CONSISTE EN LA REACCION DE UN 2-AMINO-4-PY-FENOL CON UN AGENTE CARBONILANTE TAL COMO CARBONILDIIMIDAZOL. LA REACCION SE LLEVA A CABO EN UN DISOLVENTE APROTICO INERTE, A UNA TEMPERATURA ENTRE LA AMBIENTE Y 100 C. EL COMPUESTO OBTENIDO SE PUEDE CONVERTIR EN UNA SAL CATIONICA O EN UNA SAL DE ADICION DE ACIDO. ESTOS COMPUESTOS TIENEN APLICACIONES FARMACOLOGICAS COMO CARDIOTONICOS.
