Abstract

The invention relates to an exhaust for a two-stroke internal combustion engine, comprising an exhaust duct with small auxiliary exhaust passages, a control device for the opening time of the small auxiliary exhaust passages and for the flow cross section, and an exhaust pipe. This solves the problem of insufficient exhaust cross section, the flow of exhaust gases on sealing surfaces and is of simpler construction than known devices. According to the invention the outlets of the exhaust duct and the small auxiliary exhaust passages into the cylinder wall are arranged next to one another, the small auxiliary exhaust passages being connected to the exhaust duct by means of a hollow rotary slide valve. The rotary slide valve is connected like a gear mechanism to a control device. The invention may be used on all high-performance two-stroke engines.
