Abstract
Un procedimiento mejorado para cementar acero en un horno que tiene al menos una cámara de cementación, estando dicha cámara cerrada excepto por al menos un paso por el que el acero entra y sale de la cámara, y que tiene medios para abrir y cerrar el paso, comprendiendo dicho procedimiento abrir el paso, introducir acero por el paso en la cámara, cerrar el paso, exponer el acero a una atmósfera de cementación a una temperatura comprendida entre aproximadamente 649ºC y aproximadamente 1.204ºC hasta que se cementa el acero, abrir el paso, retirar el acero por el paso, y cerrar el paso, en donde la mejora comprende introducir un gas vehículo y un hidrocarburo gaseoso en la cámara, para proporcionar la atmósfera de cementación, comprendiendo dicha atmósfera, en tanto por ciento en volumen, aproximadamente 4 a aproximadamente 30% de monóxido de carbono, aproximadamente 10 a aproximadamente 60% de hidrógeno, aproximadamente 10 a aproximadamente 85% de nitrógeno, 0 a aproximadamente 4% de dióxidode carbono, 0 a aproximadamente 5% de vapor de agua y aproximadamente 1 a aproximadamente 10% de hidrocarburo, estando basado dicho tanto por ciento en volumen en el volumen total de la atmósfera.
