Procedimiento de hidrogenación de aldehidos etilénicos, tomados en el grupo formado por los aldehidos de fórmula general: **(Fórmula)** en las que: R1, R2, R3, R4 y R6 representan un átomo de hidrógeno o un radical alquilo inferior que tiene de 1 a 5 átomos de carbono; R5 representa un radical alquilo que tiene de 1 a 5 átomos de carbono; en presencia de un catalizador, caracterizado porque el catalizador consiste en niquel Raney activado por cromo.
