Abstract
A snap-action thermal switch comprises a trifurcated contact blade 1, Fig. 2, attached to the end of a bimetal 3 heated by the passage of electric current, the switch being reset by a pivoted actuator 8 engaging the side arms 4-41 of the blade 1. Movement of the end of the bimetal 3 and blade 1 above the line of pivots 13, 131 results in the blade 1 snapping upwards to open the contacts while the actuator 8 snaps downwards to the "off" position.
