Abstract

A vibrator 1 is mounted on a baffle which consists of elastomeric annular discs 3 which are fitted on a stud 2 depending from the vibrator and maintained in spaced relation on the stud by inner and outer spacer sleeves 4, 9. A casing surrounds the discs and the lower disc rests on an annular raised projection on a foundation plate. Conduits 7 connect the space between the discs and the space beneath the lower disc by way of a valve 8 to a source of compressible fluid, e.g. air. This fluid can be used to adjust the stiffness and hence the resonant frequency of the vibrator mounting.
