Abstract
Procedure for the preparation of glass-based compositions based on sand and sodium carbonate that retain, at a temperature below 35ºC, a wet state sufficient to confer improved storage and use properties, characterized in that caustic soda is added to the mixture in amount such that it is effectively present in the NaOH state at a rate of 0.1 to 22.2 kg. per ton of composition and per fraction of about 10 liters of water present in the liquid phase, that is, excess water over the amount necessary for the eventual formation of sodium carbonate hydrates and because water is also added in sufficient quantity to preferably form the liquid phase volume between 5 and 30 liters per ton of composition.
