Proceso para la síntesis de lacosamida que comprende los siguientes pasos: (a) hidroximetilación del compuesto de fórmula V para obtener el compuesto de fórmula VI (b) hidrólisis del compuesto de fórmula VI para obtener el compuesto de fórmula VII (c) salificación del compuesto de fórmula VII con un ácido quiral (HX*) en un disolvente orgánico, para obtener la mezcla diastereoisomérica VIII; (d) resolución de la mezcla diastereoisomérica VIII para obtener la sal IX; (e) conversión de la sal IX en lacosamida
