Abstract
Una composición idónea para influir en la recuperación de un animal después de una actividad física intensa, que contiene del 4 % al 6 % de hidratos de carbono rápidamente absorbibles; del 10 % al 30 % de maltodextrinas; y del 20 % al 50 % de almidón, para un total del 40 % al 80 % de hidratos de carbono; y del 20 % al 40 % de proteínas.

De la tabla 1 se desprende que los niveles de lactato en sangre tampoco difieren en el día 1 o antes del inicio del
5 ejercicio del día 3 (tabla 1A). Los niveles de lactato en la sangre de los perros no aumenta con el ejercicio de los dos grupos, pero los niveles de lactato en los perros que consumen la galleta de rendimiento se sitúa entre un 11,3 % y un 17,3 % por debajo, inmediatamente (0 min) y 15 min, respectivamente, después del ejercicio. Además, a los 30 minutos, los niveles de lactato en sangre del grupo de perros que consumen la galleta son significativamente más bajos (34.4 %) que los del grupo que no recibe la galleta. Al cabo de 30 minutos, el lactato en sangre del grupo de
10 tratamiento se ha situado de nuevo en los niveles similares a la línea de base, es decir, antes del inicio del ejercicio. Los niveles de lactato en sangre no disminuyen a los niveles de la línea de base en el grupo de control que no recibe el producto de tipo galleta hasta los 60 min después del ejercicio. Los niveles elevados de lactato contribuyen a la fatiga; por lo tanto, la disminución de los niveles de lactato en sangre puede mejorar no solo la resistencia, sino también la recuperación. La galleta no solo proporciona una ventaja de 30 min en la recuperación de niveles
15 elevados de lactato en sangre, sino que disminuye los niveles de lactato en más del 30 %. Además, los niveles máximos de lactato en sangre alcanzados por los perros del grupo que reciben la galleta se sitúan aprox. un 12 % por debajo de los niveles máximos de lactato de los perros no tratados. La minimización de los niveles máximos de lactato en sangre puede tener también un impacto positivo en la minimización del daño y en la mejora de la recuperación después de un ejercicio intenso.
20 La lactato-deshidrogenasa (LDH) es una enzima muscular, que en definitiva convierte la glucosa en lactato. La actividad de la enzima LDH en la sangre es la de marcar el derrame celular de los músculos causado por el ejercicio así como la consiguiente descompartimentación. Al igual que con los niveles de lactato en sangre, los niveles de LDH al cabo de 15 y 30 min de realizado el ejercicio son menores en un 17 % y en un 8 %, respectivamente, en los
25 perros tratados con galleta (tabla 1A). Al igual que en el caso del lactato, el nivel máximo de LDH observado en el grupo de control es más elevado (113 %) que el observado en el grupo de tratamiento con la galleta de rendimiento. La minimización del derrame celular de los músculos del animal podría esperarse también que minimizara el daño que puede ocurrir y que tuviera una influencia positiva en la recuperación de cualquier daño de este tipo.
