Abstract
A flame spraying process for applying a surface coating to an object that comprises heating a solid coating material within a fuel mixture in continuous combustion of a fluid fuel and an agent that maintains combustion and projects the heated material into shape. of particles by means of a gas stream against the surface of the object to be coated, characterized in that said fuel mixture is burned in the presence of said coating material in an appropriate duct to accelerate the combustion gases in order to they leave at high speed whereby the entrained particles of said lining material are expelled from said duct with sufficient energy to cause them to form an adherent lining when colliding with said object.
