Abstract
La invención se refiere a un procedimiento para evaluar las funciones hepáticas de un paciente. Este procedimiento consiste (i)en tratar una serie de muestras de sangre que han atravesado el hígado del paciente, SINDO tomas estas muestras a intervalos de tiempo determinados después de que un derivado de ácido biliar coloreado o fluorescente haya sido administrado al paciente por vía intravenosa; y a continuación (ii) en evaluar el color o la fluorescencia del derivado de ácido biliar en cada muestra mediante las siguientes etapas: a) se trata la muestra de sangre para obtener un plasma sanguínea que contiene el derivado de ácido biliar, b) se mide el color o la fluorescencia del derivado de ácido biliar presente en el plasma sanguíneo, y c) se establece una curva de eliminación de plasma mediante mediciones obtenidas durante la etapa b) y se compara esta curva de eliminación del plasma con las curvas de eliminación de plasma tomadas en individuos cuyas funciones hepáticas son conocidas, para evaluar las funciones hepáticas de un paciente.
